Keep the Working USB Result Instead of Starting Over

If Nano X works over USB but Bluetooth fails in Ledger Live, preserve the wired setup as a reference. The app now goes by Ledger Wallet. A working supported USB operation is useful evidence about that route, while phone discovery and association still require separate assessment.

Do not factory-reset the device to make both tests look new. That would discard the established configuration without explaining why the wireless attempt stops.

Compare the Same Kind of Operation

Write down what actually worked over USB. A portfolio view can use previously loaded public data; a completed hardware action establishes more about communication. On the wireless side, choose the equivalent intended device task where supported.

For example, comparing desktop account refresh with an iPhone pairing timeout does not isolate USB versus Bluetooth. Comparing usable hardware-management access on each appropriate host provides a more focused record.

Account for Power as a Changed Condition

USB can supply power while the wireless test relies on Nano X’s own available charge. Check its actual screen and charge state when the cable is removed during ordinary idle use. Do not assume that the device remained powered merely because the previous wired session worked.

The Nano X specifications describe its connectivity and model context. A hardware power issue and a phone permission denial are different explanations, so preserve both observations rather than choosing one from the title of a forum post.

Use the Correct Wireless Host

Test Bluetooth through the compatible mobile app. The standalone desktop USB workflow does not acquire mobile radio support because the computer has Bluetooth. Review the supported host and actual model in Ledger’s Bluetooth instructions.

Prepare Nano X unlocked with its radio enabled, keep the intended phone nearby and review the app’s required discovery access. End another phone’s ordinary session before creating one identifiable attempt.

Locate the First Wireless Failure

  • No scan result: inspect availability, permission and hardware identity.
  • Result selected but no confirmation: record both screen states.
  • Codes disagree: cancel the exchange.
  • Pairing completes but one task fails: retain that narrower error.

Use scoped Nano X pairing repair only when the relationship is indicated as stale or inconsistent. The hardware menu reference distinguishes Reset pairings from the wallet-reset command. Do not erase configured keys to repair the radio relationship.

Preserve Maintenance and Financial Outcomes

Never move between transports while Ledger OS installation is actively progressing. Keep the supported update session stable. A failed installation belongs to its model-specific continuation before an ordinary wired-versus-wireless comparison.

Likewise, a transfer approved before a disconnect requires a chain hash or provider-state check before another attempt. A successful alternate connection cannot establish that the earlier action was cancelled.

When reporting both routes, include the host platform beside each result. Desktop USB success and mobile Bluetooth failure involve different application environments as well as different transports; neither variable should disappear from the comparison.

USB and Bluetooth Questions

Can the functioning USB setup remain in use?

Use it for tasks supported on that host while investigating the separate wireless failure. The same initialized Ledger can supply account information without copying recovery words into either interface.

Does a firmware update always repair Bluetooth?

No general result follows. Check an actual required update and its supported route. A current app or completed device update does not itself prove that phone permission and pairing state are correct.

Why might account lists still differ?

Local inclusion, network choice and supported synchronization are separate from transport. Verify the public account identity before rebuilding names or assuming that a working cable should populate every phone account automatically.
