Separate Connectivity From Permission to Use the Service
If Ledger Live cannot connect on work Wi-Fi, establish whether the network lacks usable internet or specifically restricts the application. Ledger Wallet is its current name. A workplace connection may intentionally apply proxy, inspection, or service-access rules that differ from a personal network.
Start with the organization’s policy. If personal wallet activity is not permitted, use an appropriate personal environment. Do not treat a technical workaround as authorization to bypass the restriction.
Confirm the Host Finished Network Sign-In
A Wi-Fi icon can indicate association with an access point before its recognized internet sign-in is complete. Use the organization’s known authentication process. Microsoft’s wireless troubleshooting guide helps distinguish broad connectivity trouble from an application-specific result.
Never put recovery words or a Ledger PIN into a captive portal. Those secrets do not authenticate a workplace Wi-Fi session. Verify unexpected sign-in pages with internal support instead of following a wallet-repair message.
Check whether unrelated ordinary services work. If every app is offline, report that broader condition. If only one wallet feature fails, preserve its narrower scope rather than resetting the entire network configuration.
Describe Which Layer Works
Give IT a short factual sequence: the official app opens, the device is identified, then the management catalog returns a particular message. This differs from the operating system never seeing the device at all.
Ledger’s management-channel documentation identifies online backend involvement in relevant device actions. Local USB recognition therefore does not prove that the approved management service path is reachable.
For instance, an account history refresh may succeed while installed-app listing fails. List both outcomes and their times. They need not contact identical endpoints or use identical connection behavior, so a functioning browser homepage cannot settle the application question.
Ask About the Managed Configuration
Request confirmation that the app is allowed, whether a specific proxy is required, and whether encrypted traffic inspection is expected. Windows proxy guidance describes scripts and administrator-supplied settings; those values should come from IT rather than guesswork.
For a certificate warning, preserve the exact category and let the administrator validate the intended authority. Do not install an unknown root certificate, suppress TLS validation, or disable the endpoint protection product. An issuer error and an explicit network policy refusal are different observations.
Ask which supported approved environment can be used if the managed configuration cannot accommodate the application. A guest network or hotspot is not automatically permitted just because it has a different name.
Make a Limited Comparison if Authorized
Repeat the same information request on an approved alternative connection, keeping the computer and application unchanged. Report whether the result differs. If both fail identically, check the applicable component on Ledger’s live status dashboard and retain shared host conditions as possibilities.
Avoid broad inbound firewall rules or permanent elevated execution. Neither establishes permission through a corporate gateway. Do not restart or change the active host of a progressing hardware OS update merely to collect another network result.
What Belongs in the IT Ticket?
Include the app version, failed feature, timestamp and time zone, connection context, complete sanitized error, and approved comparison. Exclude recovery material, PINs, and unrelated portfolio history.
Can I Repair This by Removing Portfolio Accounts?
Account rows cannot alter a network access rule. Preserve local organization until a separate account-specific issue is established.
Does a Work-Network Block Cancel My Last Transaction?
No such conclusion follows. If a transaction was approved before the error, check its real chain or provider outcome before authorizing another one.
