Choose the Account List You Intend to Keep
To use Ledger Live Sync between two phones, begin with an identified trusted installation and its intended accounts. The companion app is now Ledger Wallet. Phone migration, account synchronization, and connecting a signer are separate tasks; completing one does not silently complete the other two.
Before linking, inspect both phones. One may contain a useful existing list while the other holds only default onboarding. Avoid deleting the first phone’s app or shared configuration simply to make their starting screens look identical.
Establish a Supported Sharing Relationship
Consult Ledger’s Sync procedure for your current releases. If the feature is not enabled anywhere, initial activation needs eligible configured hardware. If it is enabled on one phone, its offered QR synchronization flow can link another eligible installation.
The publisher’s explanation of mobile sharing describes an encrypted exchange between app instances. This is not a request to photograph a recovery sheet or enter its words on the receiving handset.
Show the invitation from your own active flow and scan it in the matching destination feature. Handle any confirmations while both phones remain available. Keep the invitation private and do not forward it to someone who offers to synchronize the accounts for you.
Inspect Membership Before Comparing Totals
Open one recognizable account on each phone. Match network, account type where relevant, and public account details. Then inspect the rest of the list. A portfolio total is a poor first comparison if one installation includes an extra account or uses a different display currency.
For example, an Android phone might show a main Ethereum account and another account used for an older purchase. If the iPhone shows only the main entry, a different combined balance could be explained by membership rather than missing assets. Determine whether the sharing flow completed before investigating prices.
After matching identities, compare an expected account-name update if that is part of the active Sync relationship. Keep a useful existing label recorded privately. Do not rely on the ordering of rows to identify accounts that were added at different times.
Distinguish Shared Metadata From Chain Refresh
Names and account inclusion can agree while one phone still reports a blockchain-data error. That later request may depend on an explorer or provider. Record its exact message and timing rather than generating another linking invitation reflexively.
A successful name change is evidence about supported metadata sharing, not certification of every network request. Likewise, a stale market price does not prove that encryption or hardware activation failed.
Use the official application’s current troubleshooting for the specific chain or service. Avoid removing working accounts or resetting the Ledger to repair a failed internet request on one handset.
Plan Hardware Access for Both Phones
Check Ledger’s smartphone connection requirements independently. Nano S Plus cannot connect by Bluetooth and has no supported iPhone wired route. Its account information can be visible on iPhone without providing direct signing access through that hardware.
Test an appropriate hardware-confirmed operation through each supported arrangement before retiring the original phone. Do not switch hosts or reset pairing during a progressing Ledger OS update; finish the supported maintenance session first.
Does the Second Phone Need the Same Local Unlock Setting?
Local privacy settings belong to each installation. They are not the Ledger PIN or a universal credential for the shared wallet. Review each handset’s supported lock options separately.
Will Phone-to-Phone Sync Move Crypto?
No transfer is created merely by linking account views. Sending assets is a separate operation requiring its normal review and authorization.
What if No Original Phone Remains?
Follow documented reactivation with the appropriate configured hardware and eligible app. Do not replace the missing phone by importing wallet backup words into mobile software.
