  • Ledger Live Mobile Account Export: Prepare a Private QR Handover

Decide What the Phone Should Receive

For a Ledger Live account export to mobile, start by choosing between ongoing account sharing and a one-time import offered by an older release. The current name is Ledger Wallet. A QR code is a delivery mechanism; its appearance alone cannot tell you which relationship it creates.

If you want future account additions and name edits to appear elsewhere, investigate Ledger Sync. If your installed release offers a legacy export, follow the instructions matching that release and understand its limits. Avoid replacing current software with an old build simply to recover a familiar menu.

Make an Account Inventory Before Linking

Choose two reference accounts with different networks or account types. Note enough public information privately to recognize them after the handover. A token symbol or an editable nickname is insufficient when several entries look alike.

Imagine a desktop holding separate Ethereum accounts for household expenses and occasional purchases. Check their public identities before displaying any code. This prevents a successful scan from hiding the more basic problem that the source installation never contained the account you expected.

Keep this inventory off public forums. Public addresses and account-discovery information can expose financial relationships even though they cannot sign transactions. Sharing an active linking invitation deserves similar care.

Use the Current Account-Sharing Controls

Obtain the phone application through Ledger’s official mobile distribution links. Confirm that its installed release is eligible for the feature. Open the account-sharing controls in the source application rather than a receiving-address page.

Ledger describes the current feature under Settings, General, Ledger Sync in its account synchronization explanation. First activation uses compatible initialized hardware and the Sync device app. Once an installation is enabled, its supported QR linking option can connect another application instance.

Bring the destination phone into the corresponding linking screen. Generate the invitation deliberately, allow the scanner’s required camera access, and complete the displayed confirmations. A generic camera website cannot replace this application flow and adds another recipient for private account information.

Verify the Handover in Two Passes

First check account inclusion: did the intended networks and underlying accounts appear? Then check ongoing metadata sharing if that was your goal. A temporary, recognizable name edit can test an enabled Sync relationship without creating a blockchain transaction. Restore your preferred label afterward.

If an expected account was already absent on desktop, repair that source view rather than repeatedly rescanning. If the identities arrive but one balance remains old, examine the chain-data refresh and its specific error. The sharing relationship and an explorer’s response are separate dependencies.

Do not remove the original installation until the phone’s view has been checked. Avoid resetting a shared relationship simply because a price display changes more slowly than an account name.

Confirm How the Phone Will Authorize Transactions

Account visibility does not change hardware compatibility. An iPhone cannot gain a Nano S Plus USB connection through an imported account list; that model lacks Bluetooth. Read Ledger’s phone-connection guidance before depending on mobile signing.

A hardware-verified receive operation can check the intended supported device route separately. Do not send funds merely to demonstrate that the export worked, and never scan a recovery-sheet photograph as account data.

Can I Share Only a Screenshot of the Code?

Keep the genuine producing flow open and follow its instructions. A captured image may be inappropriate for a session-based invitation or an export that changes its displayed information.

Will Importing Accounts Create Additional Coins?

No. Another interface can display the same blockchain holdings. Adding that view neither duplicates assets nor transfers them to a new address.

Does the Phone Need My Backup Words?

No. This procedure shares supported account information or linking authorization. Recovery words stay offline and outside phone software.
