Copy the Hardware Message Exactly
Before choosing a recovery procedure for a Ledger Live Bootloader stall, read the full screen and identify the signer model. Ledger Wallet is the companion application’s present name. Treat a percentage shown beside Booting, an Update screen, a Bootloader label and Processing as distinct observations; their shared appearance in a tutorial does not make one continuation procedure fit all of them.
If update progress is advancing, preserve the current supported host, power, and connection. A host indicator pausing briefly does not by itself establish a failed installation. Recovery instructions below concern an established matching stuck state.
Determine Whether Bootloader Followed Maintenance
Record what you were doing before the message appeared. An interrupted update and accidental entry into a maintenance mode need not have identical next steps. Do not force entry again through button combinations taken from different hardware.
Ledger’s device and transport identifier reference identifies Bootloader as an update mode. Its technical identifiers are integration information, not instructions for ordinary users to create a custom firmware-loading session.
Use the official stuck-device guide as the action reference. Choose its actual model section and verify the whole condition before following a later step.
Nano S and Nano S Plus: Read the Continue Stage
For the documented Nano S or Nano S Plus failure during an OS update, Ledger directs users through current host software, the connected device, and My Ledger’s Continue control. Keep the on-screen flow and guide together rather than improvising a factory reset.
The guide has a later branch for a host loader at 100 percent while the device remains in Bootloader. Its reload instruction belongs to that specific condition. It should not be applied early because another percentage has not changed quickly enough.
If your release or screen does not offer the documented continuation, retain that discrepancy for official support. A missing control is a reason to clarify the state, not to download a standalone firmware file.
Nano X and Touchscreen Hardware Need Separate Paths
The Nano X branch describes resuming the failed update through My Ledger after the prescribed host-session steps. Further host or connection comparison belongs only where the current branch calls for it, after the failed condition is established.
For Stax, Flex, and other supported touchscreen hardware, distinguish the guide’s Update handling from Nano Bootloader steps. The documented resume flow may differ, including how a failed mobile session is continued. Do not turn a cross-host recovery option into permission to unplug an advancing install.
For example, Nano X still reporting Bootloader after its failed session is not the same report as a Flex showing a resumable Update screen. Give support the exact pair of host and hardware observations.
Recognize the Separate Booting Percentage Process
Ledger describes Booting with a percentage as a protection-related process. The guide calls for appropriate power and waiting, potentially for several hours, and explains that completion can reset the device. This is not an ordinary download counter or a request to reset hardware manually.
If intentional restoration becomes necessary afterward, use trusted hardware and the matching instructions. Never put recovery words into the host. Obtain the companion only through Ledger’s official software route.
What if Initial Setup Appears Unexpectedly?
Stop before generating new secrets. Confirm the device state and recovery decision through official guidance. A new empty wallet is not a routine continuation of an existing account view.
Can a Universal Waiting Period Tell Me When to Unplug?
No. Timing differs by model and state. Follow its current instructions and observable progress rather than a deadline copied from another installation.
How Do I Confirm the Update Is Recovered?
Verify normal access and installed OS through the supported interface, then needed apps. A later explorer or portfolio error should be investigated separately from firmware completion.
