Observe What Happens When You Return
If Ledger Live loses Bluetooth after Android sends it to the background, inspect the app’s behavior when reopened before deleting pairings. Its current name is Ledger Wallet. A connection that resumes normally is different from an application that restarts, requests local unlock, or cannot rediscover the signer.
The useful objective is completing the supported task with deliberate device approval, not maintaining an unspecified all-day radio session. Do not permanently weaken phone locking or grant unrelated permissions to pursue a continuous connection.
Create a Small Read-Only Comparison
Connect a supported Bluetooth Ledger while the app is visible and confirm an ordinary device action. With no signing or hardware update underway, perform the normal app switch or screen-lock transition that previously triggered the issue. Return and record the actual outcome.
For example, the portfolio may remain visible while My Ledger needs to reconnect, or the entire app may show its local lock. Those observations are not proof of the same underlying event. Note whether the Ledger itself locked, lost power, or remained ready throughout.
Keep one phone and one intended client in the test. Another device’s active session can change availability without Android having stopped anything. Do not change pairings, battery settings, and the cable arrangement simultaneously.
Inspect an Identified App Restriction
Review the phone manufacturer’s current per-app background or battery controls. Samsung’s application-management documentation provides an example of sleeping and deep-sleeping categories; those names and behavior should not be imposed on every Android brand.
If the genuine app is explicitly restricted and the expected workflow needs a targeted exception, record the original setting before an appropriate change. Repeat the same transition and check whether reconnection or task completion improves. A negative result is useful and should not lead to accumulating permanent exceptions.
Keep system-wide power management intact. An exception does not guarantee a permanent Bluetooth session, unrestricted background execution, or continued access to a Ledger that has locked itself.
Recheck Permission and Hardware Availability
Use Android’s permission controls to verify the relevant grant remains present. Nearby-device capability and older location-related scan conditions depend on the actual OS and app workflow. Notification permission is another setting and does not prove the radio session stayed alive.
Inspect the signer’s own power, lock, and Bluetooth state when returning. Nano S Plus has no Bluetooth; a wired model losing host power requires a different diagnosis. Avoid describing every background-related message as a pairing fault.
Resume Only the Intended Operation
Reconnect through the normal app flow if required and review any renewed device request. A valid saved association need not display a new code on every reconnection. If new pairing is actually requested, compare both screens and reject any mismatch.
Use the official Ledger application route for maintenance. Do not install a background-fix APK or type recovery words into Android to keep the session active.
Preserve advancing Ledger OS installation and its supported foreground host arrangement. Do not intentionally lock the phone to reproduce a disconnect during that update. For a signed action that preceded session loss, establish its chain or provider status before authorizing another attempt.
Is Reopening at the App Lock Evidence of a Radio Failure?
No. Local privacy access and device communication are separate states. Unlock the interface through its legitimate controls, then inspect the actual connection result.
When Is Pairing Cleanup Relevant?
Use the model’s specific procedure when a retained relationship remains unusable after ordinary readiness and permission checks. A successful foreground pairing followed by one background interruption does not by itself establish stale records.
What Should the Reproduction Say?
Record the transition, timing, foreground result, return result, hardware display, app restrictions, and versions. Share no wallet backup or hardware PIN.
