  • Ledger Live Finds No Devices After iOS Update: A Recovery Record

Turn the Update Timing Into Useful Evidence

If Ledger Live reports no devices found after an iOS update, record what changed and what still works before deleting anything. Ledger Wallet is the current branding. The timing establishes a sequence; it does not establish that the iOS release caused a Bluetooth defect.

Begin only after the phone’s system update has completed and its ordinary interface is usable. Also check the Ledger screen. A device still progressing through Ledger OS installation needs that maintenance session preserved before discovery experiments.

Record a Small Compatibility Snapshot

Keep the iPhone model, exact iOS build, installed app release, Ledger model and hardware OS information together. Confirm the current compatible application through the official store listing. Avoid assuming that a release available to another phone is the one installed on yours.

Write down the last known working task too. A successful account refresh yesterday does not necessarily mean hardware Bluetooth worked yesterday, because public history can load without a live device.

Compare These Observations After Maintenance

  • Does iOS permit Bluetooth for the wallet app?
  • Does the hardware have power, an unlocked state and Bluetooth enabled?
  • Does the app discover anything during the intended model’s scan?
  • Does an existing saved device fail only after selection?

Apple’s Bluetooth authorization guide helps separate radio availability from app access. If the privacy entry is absent, reach the feature that requests it. If it is present but off, correct the specific decision and repeat the same scan.

Avoid Rebuilding a Relationship That Still Works

A saved association can reconnect without a fresh code. Test an ordinary device-dependent action before demanding a new setup exchange. Conversely, a stored iPhone entry alone cannot prove that the app can communicate now.

When the relationship is genuinely unusable, use Ledger’s current Bluetooth repair. Its Nano X and touchscreen branches use different hardware controls. Clear only the indicated connection records, keeping wallet configuration intact.

Watch for renamed or shortened device labels during a fresh scan. Identify your hardware deliberately and compare any pairing codes fully. Cancel an unexplained result or mismatch rather than assuming the update merely changed the code’s appearance.

Build a Comparison That Tests Discovery

If another compatible phone is available, compare whether it discovers the same prepared Ledger under an ordinary idle condition. Keep the app, hardware and intended task identifiable. A successful audio accessory on the first iPhone tests a different Bluetooth use case.

For example, the first iPhone may show permission denied while the second scans normally. That points toward a phone-side condition to review, without proving a system regression. Both phones failing while the Ledger is locked is another result with a simpler readiness question.

Do not reset all iPhone network or privacy settings as the initial repair. Broader changes can disturb unrelated connections and erase evidence. Preserve versions and the first failed stage for official support if the problem remains.

Retain any current release notice that explicitly matches the installed iOS and application versions. A historical Bluetooth incident involving another version is context to review, not evidence that its workaround applies to this phone.

Post-iOS-Update Questions

Could the missing device be Nano S Plus?

That model has no Bluetooth and no supported iPhone wired Ledger route. An iOS update does not add the Android-style USB host workflow to that combination.

Does re-pairing repopulate my accounts?

It repairs communication. Account addition or supported account synchronization is a different task. Do not interpret an empty local portfolio as a failed radio pairing automatically.

Can support use my recovery phrase to diagnose it?

No. Supply non-secret versions, permissions and observations. Backup words cannot repair Bluetooth discovery and must remain outside iOS and support forms.
